  1. To begin with, I'd like to comment on the breathtaking beatuy of this island. I feel that almost everybody would like to visit it and stay there for some time. However, the job offered - being an island caretaker- is not suitable for everyone. Although it doesn't seem to be a demanding job, people applying for it should be entirely responsible. This personal quality is necessary, mainly, for feeding the fish, since otherwise they are likely to die, and for collecting the mail because people staying on the island may recieve an important piece of news and it is a must for the caretaker to hand it in. Going back to the first task mentioned, people applying for the job should be patient and tolerant, after all they will be dealing with animals which are not rational creatures. As regards cleaning the poool and exploring the island and reporting back, caretakers need to be gregarious and friendly, mainly for the latter, since they will have to be in contact with people who have paid for that trip and they deserve to be treated politely and kindly. Finally, for all these activities, applicants ought to be energetic, for they all require hard work.
I do believe that I have got the necessary qualities for this kind of job. Even so, I can't stand being far from my relatives and friends for a long time. That is why I wouldn't be good for this particular job.

  2. I imagine this kind of job would requiere somebody with a great deal of qualities.
First of all, applicants must be good swimmers since they have to clean the pool and feed the fish. Moreover, they should be efficient and responsible. This quality is essential if they are collecting somebody´s mail. Since the message could be very important for the visitor. Besides they would need to have a good sense of humour and good communication skills, that means that they have to be gregarious and friendly as they are dealing with people all the time. Therefore caretakers should be tolerant. A tactless person would be no good in this job. What´s more they should be sensible and decisive to take decisions quicky at any time. As regards exploring the island and reporting back, applicants should be really patient since the island appeal to be quite huge and this activity will take a lot of time. Definitely, this is not a post for me. Mainly because I´m not a good swimmer and I don´t feel like cleaning. Besides I´m not patient at all!

  3. I can not think of a place as beautiful as this. That's really a paradisiacal island and I imagine that anyone would like to apply for the job of island caretaker there. However, not everyone would be suitable for it as it requires applicants to display some specific personal qualities.
First of all, candidates should be efficient and energetic because there is a lot of work to do which may take too much time and it must be done in the best possible manner. Besides, it's essential for applicants to be friendly and gregarious people due to they are not going to be alone, they will have to work and live with other people for six months so they need to be at least tactful and tolerant with their partners. And finally, candidates should be really patient and persistent because they have to walk through the whole island as part of the job.
I think I would be a good candidate for this job because I really love places like this and I'm possitive that its beauty would fill me with a constant good humor no matter the difficulties the job could present.

  4. I think that it is a wonderful job, because of the beautiful landscape that you can see and enjoy while you are working.
This is the appropriate job for those who love working in contact not only with the nature but also with animals.
Apart from that, there are others qualities that are necessary to apply for this job. For instance, you should be efficient, responsible and energetic because the job is very demanding. There are lots of activities that you have to do, for example clean the pool and feed the fish, and without a good training and a good knowledge of the island, it would be more difficult.
Other important point to take into account is that you need to be social, kind and friendly since you will work with different tourists every day. Therefore, tourists need to be treated politely and patiently.
I feel that I have the qualities necessaries for this job. Mainly because I love animals and I would like to work in such lovely island. I consider myself as gregarious, responsible and polite. However, if I think about the energy and flexibility that the job requires, it will be difficult for me to adapt quickly to the job.

  5. This island is the perfect place to work and relax at the same time and to escape from the busy life in the city. But I guess that working in this paradise won’t be a bed of roses all the time, so the people interested in the job should have a special personality and skills. First, the applicants should be extremely hard-working since the activities that are asked to do seem to be a bit complicated and time consuming, so they must be willing to work hard at any time of the day. They also need to be courageous since they have to feed the fish and deliver a mail by flying an airplane, two activities that are not usual in everyday life. Another special quality which I believe is essential is that they should be fit enough to take long walks to explore the island.
Since they are going to be dealing with people all the time future caretakers should be outgoing and talkative and also very patient since people could be very demanding sometimes. Last but not least, applicants should be adventurous as they may have to face dangerous or unusual situations in the island.
Although I am not very brave I think I have enough qualities to apply for the job. I like outdoor activities and taking care of animals and I am willing to work all day only I order to enjoy being in such a great place.

  6. At first look this job has it all, the place, the salary, it seems to be perfect. But being an island caretaker is not suitable for everyone; it requires some specific personal qualities and skills.
First, applicants must be responsible because there are tasks like feeding the fish that have to be done everyday at a certain hour. Collecting and delivering the mail it is another task in which being responsible is essential because people staying on the island may receive important news and depends on you to deliver it on time. Besides, applicants should also be patient, tolerant and friendly in order to be in contact with people coming from different countries, for this is necessary that they could speak several languages. Moreover, candidates should be gregarious because they have to live and work with other people for six months. Finally, it is essential for candidates to be in good shape because they have to explore the island and this is not a simple task.
I think that I have some of the most important qualities and I wouldn't have problems doing all the tasks but I don't know if I can stand being six months far from Rosario. In conclusion I think that I would be good for this job but I don't know if I would take it.

  7. Why didn't I hear of this job before?! Applications are long closed now and it seemed to be the perfect job for me... Well, for almost anyone (who wouldn't like to be on such a paradisiacal island... AND be paid?), but I do think I had most of the qualities the job requires.
To begin with, it requires someone who likes nature and can appreciate it in all its beauty, so choosing the right angle of the island to show to the world, traits I think I accommodate quite well.
On this account, knowing your way around a digital camera would be a plus, and here I may be lacking, since, though I know how to use a camera (who doesn't these days?), I'm far from what you would call a photographer, even an amateur one.
On top of that, that someone should also enjoy trekking, and be fit enough to cross a wide variety of terrains. Well, I love to walk and I'm quite energetic when it comes to overcoming obstacles, and with views such as the ones in the video, I think I could go on walking on that island forever.
Being a good swimmer (which I am) would also be of great help, since most of the natural attractions of any island are water related. In this case, it would be of great importance to be able to show to the world its variety of sea-life (some of which you also have to feed), the splendour of its coral reefs and the beauty of its beaches.
Finally, although the job doesn't seem to involve much direct interaction with other people, I think being friendly, talkative and tactful wouldn't hurt, since you do have to report your everyday life on the island on a blog for others to read, and the more interesting your post are, the more people will follow it (the blog, that is). Here I may have came across to another drawback, since I'm shy and reserved in person, but I think I'm quite different in my online character and after a while I would have been able to express myself in an outgoing enough manner.
So, all in all, I would have definitely liked to give this job a try.
